Flight Departures at Gdansk Airport
When you are flying from Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport you are recommended to be at the airport at least 2 hours ahead of departure time to make sure you have plenty of time to get through the check-in procedure, the security control and finding your gate in time to board your flight.
The airport has two terminals, connected with a bridge, but it’s almost exclusively Terminal 2, T2, that is used. Terminal 1, T1, is however used for destinations outside of the Schengen area, but only for departures. There are no arrivals at T1 since T2 was finished and taken into operations in September of 2015.
Arriving for departure at the Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport, GDN
While T1 is used for some departures all check-in desks are in T2 so that is where you will be arriving.
Taxis, buses and hotel organised transfers will drop you off just outside the entrance or in the parking lot right opposite the terminal building.
If you arrive by train, the train station has direct access to the terminal and you will arrive in the corner of the main hall with departures at the other end of the terminal.
If you arrive by personal car there are several options for parking within walking distance. The Kiss & Fly parking is short-term and for dropping off someone and it is free of charge for the first 10 minutes. For longer stays one of the long-term parking lots is a better choice.
Anyone returning a rental car is advised to please follow the instructions from your airport car rental company. The Gdansk Airport rental car desks are located to the right after entering the main hall from outside, opposite the arrivals hall.
Check-in and security at Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport, GDN
Checking yourself and your luggage in takes place at the check-in desks marked with the airline logo, flight number, destination name and the departure time. This area is located on the left hand side of the terminal as you enter it. You will be asked to show a valid photo ID/passport and possibly a reservation printout to validate your status on the flight and you will receive your boarding pass. Your bag/s will be tagged and sent to aircraft holding.
After check-in you are ready to go through the security check before being allowed to enter the Departure hall.
